A plane carrying 50 people made an emergency landing this morning at Dayton International Airport after a fire indicator light came on and the pilot reported possible smoke in the cockpit. Airport spokeswoman Sharon Sears says U-S Airways flight 2803, which had taken off from the airport bound for Pittsburgh, landed safely. Sears says the passengers got off the plane through emergency exits and were taken to the terminal. She says there were three minor injuries, including an injured knee, but the passenger refused treatment. The aircraft was filled to capacity. Sears says maintenance crews are examining the plant to try to determine the cause of the problem.
