Ohio presidential hopeful Dennis Kucinich called for pulling the United States out of Iraq and putting the United Nations in charge of rebuilding the country. The democratic congressman from Cleveland was stumping in Des Moines, Iowa, where January precinct caucuses launch the presidential nominating season. He plans to officially start his campaign Monday in Cleveland city council chambers. Also next week, he plans to vote against president Bush’s 87 billion-dollar spending requests for military operations and rebuilding Iraq and Afghanistan. Kucinich says he believes many Americans are shocked at the spending request. He says his plan calls for Bush to hand over security concerns and control of Iraq’s oil to the U-N.
