The Federal Communications Commission is expected to announce today whether S-B-C Communications can offer long-distance service in Ohio and three other states. S-B-C, formerly known as Ameritech, has been trying for years to offer long-distance service throughout its service area. Approval from the
F-C-C is the final hurdle. The San Antonio-based company says the move would mean better deals on long-distance for customers because there will be more competition in the market.
