Last night’s elections had a few close calls, one of which involved a split district in Muskingum and Perry counties where a levy was decided by a handful of votes. Today, some claim a mistake cost them their vote. Rachael Holt lives in Perry County, but like a few people, is in Franklin local school district. When voting in Perry County yesterday a mistake happened. She says poll workers told her the wrong place to vote, not allowing her to vote on the Franklin local school levy. If she could, she would have voted no. Franklin Local School Superintendent Bill Parrett believes many have a problem with the 1.3 mill levy due to the tax increase. Unofficial results have the levy passing by three votes. Holt believes others may have run into the same problem. Perry County Board of Elections Deputy Director Tim Green said they’ve had two calls and are aware of the problem and are discussing how to address it.
