With Muskingum County Commissioner Ed Kenily not running for re-election, a Zanesville businessman files petitions to take his seat. Dean Cole, who co-owns Tom’s Print Shop and the Bridal Suite in Zanesville, as well as Social Supper in Dresden became the first official candidate for county commissioner. He began taking the petitions in September and filed last Thursday. Cole, or any candidate, needed only 50 signatures, but he received over one hundred. This gave him confidence to run for the seat currently occupied by Kenily. Cole is running as a Republican. The primary election for Muskingum County Commissioner will be held March 2, 2004.
