As the deer-gun season begins today, local hunters are left with fewer places to turn in their deer this year. The number of check in stations in Muskigum County has significantly dropped off since last year, with only a few still open for hunters. Jerry Prior of the Dillon Falls Check In Station says despite the decrease, he still anticipates plenty of hunters checking in their deer throughout the day. The Dillon Falls Check In station expects around three hundred to four hundred people this evening, surpassing last year’s first day totals.
