A COTA bus was stolen from a Meijer parking lot on Sawmill Road in Columbus Saturday morning. According to reports from the Granville post of the State Highway Patrol, the driver had apparently left the vehicle running while he ran into the store. When he returned, the vehicle was gone. Central Ohio Transit Authority was tracking the bus using their global positioning system and they determined that the bus was heading into Licking County on State Route 161. Trooper Bowman with the State Highway Patrol says before the bus could be stopped, it was involved in an accident with one other vehicle. The driver of the stolen bus, 32- year old Grace Cha of Gahanna, was transported to Grant Medical Center with minor injuries. Noone else was injured in the crash. Authorities say Cha was wanted on a felony warrant out of Franklin County for witness tampering. She's currently being held in the Franklin Coutny jail. Charges in Licking County for theft and reckless driving are still pending. Cha said she stole the bus, hoping to make it to New York City to see Conan O'Brien.
