Z-bus riders received tokens of appreciation today.

Its all part of this week's annual "Try Transit Week". The events being held are all designed to get passengers involved and new customers on the buses, as well as helping out local charities.

On Wednesday, people can bring canned food or other non-perishable food items as their fare for the day. Thursday will be coupon day, where people can ride for free if they cut the coupon out of the Times Recorder.

Another incentive, if you happen to hop on the same bus as Santa, you'll ride for free. Closing out the week, on Friday, a bus will be parked at the South Zanesville Wal-Mart and the public is asked to bring food items, clothing, toys, and anything else that can be donated to local charities for the holidays.

General Manager, Mark McClanan hopes this week will show their appreciation for customers and the community.
