There’s good news tonight for the city of Zanesville…

The long awaited construction project for the State Route 146 and State Route 60 connector road has finally been passed by the council.

Larry Merry of the Zanesville Port Authority says this is one of the big steps necessary to move this project forward. One of the main reasons the connector road project was created was to reduce the amount of traffic through our city.

Merry says, “ Many of the roads people are traveling on now are between residential areas, have a lot of kids, and this road will open up an area that traffic can flow back and forth and will alleviate some of the congestion that happens on those roads.”

Design crews can begin working on the project as early as tomorrow.
