The Old Maysville middle school will once again house the donated goods for this year’s United Way Operation Feed campaign.
The campaign collects food to donate to local food pantries and the hot meals program. But what has been a troublesome task in the past few years, wasn’t as difficult this year.
Keely Warden, executive director of the United Way says, “ Last year we generated 65 tons of food this year, our goal being 100 tons of food and we need a very large building and we’d like it to be an in-kind donation and each year it’s been a little more challenging to get that building donated.”
The campaign runs from the end of March through May so it can be difficult for a business to donate their facility for that length of time.”
Non-perishable foods may be donated for the campaign which begins March 25th.
