ARMCO Park Changing Hands
Today was a special one for anyone with fond memories of ARMCO Park in Zanesville.

The Muskingum County Community Foundation has purchased the park from AK Steel and leased it to the Zanesville YMCA and YWCA.

Craig Miracle, Executive Director of the Zanesville YMCA says:

"I see it as continuing the great things that AK (Steel), and their predecessor before them ARMCO have done and especially the employee association for the way they've maintained and enhanced this park. They deserve all the credit in the world for what you're seeing here they've put a lot of work and time and money into this, and without them what we're doing today wouldn't be possible."

The Community Foundation sees the significance of this changing of hands as well and executive director Dave Mitzel says it's truly a special day for our city.

"This will bring people back to the community, it'll bring more industry, more jobs, it's going to play a major role in the future of Zanesville. Today we're changing Zanesville."

The park is leased to the y for one year and will be known as 'Park Central', being so close to OU-Zanesville and Zane State. If you have an idea about the recreational needs of the park, you can contact the Community Foundation via email at
