Nationwide Children's Hospital is expanding. It has opened 3 facilities in the past 6 months.

One of those just happens to be right here in Zanesville. It's called ChildLab, and it opened about 3 weeks ago.

"The ChildLab here specializes in basically any blood draws or other samples that need to be taken on pediatrics or adolescents, and those are administered at the hospital. Physicians can receive their reports by Internet or by fax," says Sales Manager Tony DeLuca.

Kristin Nietfeld, who works with Sales and Business Development, says the Y-City was chosen for one of its locations because the Columbus-based hospital sees a lot of patients from Zanesville.

She says there is one big misconception when it comes to who ChildLab sees. She says anyone is welcome, no matter what your age is or what you have.

ChildLab is much like the motto for Nationwide Children's, every child for every reason. So, we have no age capitation. Any patient is welcome to come," says Nietfeld.

It held an open house Wednesday from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. to get the word out about the services it offers. The lab is located on Military Road next to Snouffer Funeral Home.
