A Day On The Farm
Today local families got to experience life down on the farm.

The 15th annual Farm City Day took over the Muskingum County Fairgrounds. While there were vendors, live music and games, the star of the show was the beef.

"We want to emphasize the importance of beef cattle to the economy. A lot of people don't realize Muskingum County is one of the top, if not the top, producing county in terms of feeder calves in Ohio. We have a lot of people who raise feeder calves for sale here in Muskingum County," tells March Mechling from OSU Extension.

Farm City Day even had a chef teaching the crowd new beef recipes. To keep the kids busy there were dummy cow roping contests and a cow chip throwing contest. Many kids enjoyed using old farming machinery.

"Our favorite part is probably how you can experience old stuff that people had to do," said Tyler Walter as he sheared corn.

Farm City Day was done in conjunction with the Farmer's Market. Vendors like 99 year-old Reberta Crown enjoyed the seeing all the families and the large crowd.
