Bands Perform

All 12 local high school bands, competing in this year's Bonanza of Bands, are earning recognition and some special awards.

They gathered at Zanesville High School's Sulsburger Stadium to each perform a handful of pieces in the 47th annual event.

Zanesville's Band Director, Kelley Ryan, says the Bonanza of Bands is the oldest running marching band competition in the state.

A complete list of those participating includes: Fort Frye High School Marching Cadets, Shenandoah Zeps Band, Ridgewood Marching Generals, St. Clairsville High School Marching Band, Mayesville Panther Marching Band, Meadowbrook Colts Marching Band, Utica High School Marching Band, Bloom Carroll Bulldog Marching Band, River View Black Bear Marching Band, Tri-Valley Marching Band, Pride of Newark Marching Band, and the Zanesville Blue Devil Marching Band.
