After job seekers got all dolled up, they were able to sit through a series of classes, learning to sell themselves in interviews and on paper.
The Muskingum County Opportunity Center teamed up with Muskingum Valley Human Resource Management to put on a series of classes to help dislocated workers.
"The great thing about tonight is they are actually going to be able to talk with HR people from companies in Muskingum County to find out exactly what it is that they're working for," said Julie Metzer of the Muskingum County Opportunity Center. "They're talking with the HR people saying these are skills, resumes we're looking for--the dos and don'ts of the resumes."
Classes this evening focused on "walking the talk," fear factors, resumes and online job applications.
Nancy Rutledge of Muskingum Valley Human Resource Management says the classes are taught by the local HR managers.
"So that individuals could learn firsthand what human resource managers in our community are looking for as far as them enabling job seekers to make a good first impression," said Rutledge. "How can they do that? Either by the interview or selling themselves on paper."
Rutledge says her organization hopes these classes will give each participant a paper makeover and the confidence to go with their new looks.
