Muskingum County residents planning to get their seasonal flu shot down at the fairgrounds on Thursday will have to wait another week.
According to Rambo Health Center Executive Director Crystal Bebout, the companies the center ordered the vaccines from set an initial delivery date of August 28.
"Because of that early date and because of the H1N1 outbreak, we decided to start our immunization earlier this year," said Bebout. "We recieved two of the manufacturers sent the vaccine as promised. The third, which is the most vaccine that we ordered, did not come through with the vaccine."
Bebout says the Health Center puts in an order for the vaccines in January. In June, the companies call to confirm the orders and then alert the center to a delivery date.
She says the health center increased the amount ordered, which might have pushed back the delivery. Bebout says not to worry though, they plan on holding the flu clinic next Thursday.
"Everything is exactly the same," said Bebout. "7 a.m. To 7 p.m. No changes with any of the people providing the service, just the date is different."
The clinic will be pushed to Thursday ,Otober 8.
Bebout says the clinic ordered just over 13,000 seasonal flu shots for the year.
She says last year at the fairgrounds, they administerd about 3,600 shots. This year Bebout says the health center is prepared to administer 5,500.
