A father and daughter are safe and back on the ground after a scary incident in the air.
Muskingum County Sheriff's Lieutenant Randy Wilson says his office received reports around sunset that a pilot, flying a single engine Cessna, was having difficulty breathing and lost consciousness.
"There was a problem with oxygen in the aircraft. They were flying too high, " says Wilson.
Wilson says the pilot's daughter, who had limited flying experience, was going to be forced to make an emergency landing at the Zanesville Municipal Airport.
"It looked really good. We were really pleased and surprised. We were later informed that the pilot came to, " says Wilson.
Wilson says the pilot was able to gain consciousness right before the plane was ready for landing.
Both the father and daughter were checked out at the scene but not transported to the hospital.
Wilson says the pair was flying from Omaha, Nebraska to a destination in Virginia.
