New Signs on I-70

Numerous property owners on State Route 666 and Old Adamsville Road complaining of property damage due to trucks accessing the Eastpointe Business Park, may see some relief.

The Executive Director of the Transportation Improvement Board says the truckers using GPS are being told to take the roadways, new signs will be placed on Interstate 70 east and west by the Ohio Department of Transportation to direct truckers to use the Adamsville exit as a means of getting into the park.

"I think that it's going to help a lot to communicate to the traveling public that doesn't realize where they're going and are new to the area," explained Executive Director Jerry Nolder.

Nolder says Avon is also in the process of contacting the truckers GPS providers to get the route changed.

"As I understand it all of those companies have been working with them. Avon is currently working with them to get some of the short cuts off the map there," said Nolder.

The signs should be posted by November 1st.

The board is also in the process of submitting various road projects to the state for this year's funding. Some of the projects include bridge replacements and the pavement of Northpointe from Richvale Road to Powelson.
