Ohio is one of the top ten most obese states in the country, and health experts are saying that problem is growing.
Right now, one in three Ohioans are obese. Yet, heath experts are projecting that by the year 2018, half of the state's adult population will be obese.
"They've been trending the rate of increased weight in the us. It's on a sort of straight line projection, and for the last 20 years it's been followed, it's steadily increasing, " says Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department's Dr. Vicki Whitacre.
Lack of exercise, a more sedentary lifestyle, and poor diet are the main reasons for this trend, and Whitacre says it could spill over into other areas.
"If we don't get at least these trends stopped, we're going to have our cost of medical care more than double, perhaps triple, " says Whitacre.
Whitacre also says the major health problems brought on by obesity will cause people to die at a younger age.
