Cheering in NYC

Two Perry County girl's cheer their way all the way to New York City.

After nerve wracking try-outs, countless fundraiser and time spent practicing Crooksville High School seniors Kayla Gorby and Nicole Keister packed their pom-poms to cheer in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade as part of the All-American Cheerleaders. Though cheering is the girls' top priority they have other plans too.

"Going to ground zero. I love the 9/11 stuff so I really want to go and see the wall and everything," said Gorby.

Keister added, "I want to see the State of Liberty. The New Yankee Stadium and the Empire State Building."

For girls who've never stepped a foot on a subway, getting ready for their Big Apple debut took some work and a unique way of learning their routine.

Keister explained, "It's kind of hard learning from a DVD instead of actually having people here."

And for Gorby she has only one request.

"I hope it's everything everyone says it is!"
