The Muskingum County Commissioners are a little leery about the 2010 budget.
Commissioner Brian Hill says the county is fairing better than surrounding areas, but the recession is still leaving imprints here.
"We're feeling the pinch as well. Our revenues are off substantially from where they had been in the past, and we're going to have to deal with that, " says Hill.
Hill says he's thankful to the county's elected officials and department heads who have tried to save money and not spent as much as in years past. The commissioners also planned on the budget shortfall and didn't grant any raises to employees this year.
But will the county be facing cuts?
"It will be difficult. Not as bad as some and hopefully not like the city, " says Hill.
The commissioners say they will have a better understanding on where the 2010 budget stands in January.
