A spring baby in 1910 is now celebrating her 100th birthday.
Family and friends of Vera Marsh gathered Saturday at Calvary Chapel in downtown Zanesville to celebrate Vera's centennial birthday. Vera's daughter, Marsha, says her mother has always been generous to people who cross her path.
"I remember when I was little... there was this little kid crying and mother (Vera) got in her purse and gave the mother some money because she supposed that the child was crying for something they couldn't have," tells Marsha Marsh.
Vera says it is wonderful to be surrounded by her friends and family on her birthday and in her 100 years of life she has one favorite memory.
"When you were born," says Vera smiling at Marsha.
Vera has one daughter, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Friends and family spoke with Vera and enjoyed a delicious cake made by Marsha who says she is so happy to her mother reach 100-years-old.
"I am just grateful, you know today I was saying thank you Lord that you gave mom all these years and we are sharing in that ," says Marsha.
Marsha attributes her mother's long life to never smoking, having a good doctor and relying strongly on faith.
