Deciding what you want to do with the rest of your life is difficult, especially for high school students.
So to help make the decision easier, business and college representatives will meet with high school students for the first M.I.N.D. Your Own Business Fair.
"This fair is to bring together the community, we have a lot of community representatives here today to show that the community is behind our students and it is about career, jobs and college," says Cassandra McDonald, an organizer of the M.I.N.D. Your Own Business Fair.
McDonald says the business owners will talk to students about summer jobs and long term career possibilities. Since not every student will go to college, McDonald says she wants to use the fair to help those students meet with and be mentored by successful business owners in the community.
"So often kids feel isolated or like they are not able to approach people to ask questions, but I think most business people, if you approached them, they are very helpful, glad to help people move forward in their career and that is what we would like to see," says Toey Stout the VP of Marketing and Development with Zandex.
The M.I.N.D. Your Own Business Fair will be May 1st from 5-7 p.m. at Zanesville High School and from 7-9 p.m. students can compete in a talent showcase.
