March is reporting a lower unemployment rate all across Southeastern Ohio.
Muskingum County Opporunity Center Supervisor, Bob Mercer, says those statistics aren't unexpected.
"Typically, this time of year in the spring and going into summer, (You've got) some of the landscaping jobs and you've got construction in our area, " says Mercer.
The center had its busiest month during March, serving 22 hundred people. Mercer says his staff works hard to try to match job seekers with employers.
"I think especially right now with the way we've had to put in some additional services and classes, that kind of thing, to accommodate the need we have here in Muskingum County," says Mercer.
Even though the unemployment rate is dropping, Southeastern Ohio still has some of the highest in the state, Morgan and Noble Counties are part of the top five on the list, at 17.2%. Muskingum County comes in 14th at 15.2%.
