It's a busy day on the job for the new Executive Director of the Port Authority.
Mike Jacoby is settling in to his first day in the role, bringing in boxes and sifting through paperwork that's been on hold since the departure of former Executive Director Jerry Nolder in January.
"It's a little overwhelming," said Port Authority Executive Director Mike Jacoby. "I need to talk to people but I also need to dig into the files because of when your talking grant agreements, contracts, grant agreements, there's going to be a lot I just need to absorb through reading the files."
Despite playing catch up Jacoby is eager to begin.
"There's a lot of opportunity in Zanesville and Muskingum County," explained Jacoby. "There's a lot of good things that have been happening, we just need to capitalize on the investments that have been made to date."
Thursday Jacoby will meet with Nolder, who will show him some of the projects and properties the port is undertaking.
