The Zanesville Police Department is releasing more details, surrounding a Sunday incident where a 10-year-old boy was run over by a car.
A police report indicates that 16-year-old Marissa Phanhthourath was unaware that her 10-year-old brother was hiding in front of her car. It shows when she went to pull out of a Kidsville parking space that she ran over the boy with the front and back tires at five miles-per-hour, before pinning the child under the car.
A passerby did help remove the boy before he was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital. He was then later transferred to Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus. A spokesperson says the last known condition of the child was critical.
Lieutenant Tony Coury says it's not likely Phanhthourath will be cited because the fault seems to lie with the boy.
