If you would like to give your mom a great meal on Mother's Day, there's a local organization who can help.
The Washington Township Fire Department will host it's annual Mother's Day Chicken Dinner this Sunday at the fire department. Fire Chief Gene Hanning says they're busy each year, selling about 1,400 dinners.
"We most generally sell out, but sometimes we don't depending on the weather and what everybody has going on that weekend," said Hanning.
Chief Hanning says when you join their department, you understand you won't be able to share Mother's Day at home. It's all hands on deck at the station.
"Usually mom comes out to spend it out here with us," said Firefighter Dean Griffith. "That's a good thing. A lot of mothers out there aren't able to get out, so some of the sons or daughters will come here to buy the chicken and take it home to mom. That's a cool thing too."
Money raised will go toward equipment for the department. It starts at 11 a.m. on Sunday at the Washington Township Fire Department on Old Adamsville Road. The cost is $8.
