The Zanesville Police Department is joining other law enforcement agencies throughout the state to start Ohio's "Click It or Ticket" campaign tomorrow.
Lieutenant Tony Coury says the department will be putting extra crews on the street for traffic enforcement, and he says patrolman will have zero tolerance for those who refuse to buckle up.
If you are caught in Zanesville, a ticket issued for the driver not wearing a seatbelt is 76 dollars while a passenger's is 71 dollars.
Coury says most drivers are compliant with the law. In fact, in 2009, 84 percent of Ohio drivers chose to buckle up, which is the highest amount ever recorded. Coury says the goal this year is to reach 85 percent.
