Residents of the Muskingum County Home will be asked to pay twelve dollars more per day starting August 1, 2010.
The County Commissioners approved an increase in daily room and board rates for residents of the Muskingum County Home. It is the first increase for the home since 2008.
Muskingum County Commissioner, John Bates says, "From 2008 to 2010 of course you know that cost and everything goes up for all the Medicare services we offer out there, so we increased the rates to twelve dollars per day."
The increase will go toward the expenses of operating the home. Instead of paying thirty-two dollars and fifty cents per day, they will now be paying forty-four dollars, and fifty cents.
"So that will help with expenses and stuff until we see about getting those beds medicated and that so that will help with taxpayers," says Bates.
With the increase, the monthly rate will be one-thousand, three-hundred and thirty-five dollars.
