Three Ohio Democratic candidates are letting their voices be heard in Muskingum County.
The public was welcome to hear each speak about their opinions on issues so voters have a better idea of where stand come November.
"As soon as you mention just politically, it's like trying to draw a fly to something. People just run for the border. They don't really like to sit around and listen to politicians, but everything is so important in life and every decision needs to be made. People need to be more aware, " says Muskingum County Democrat Chairman, Darrell Lear.
Mary Jane Trapp was one of the speakers. She currently serves as an Administrative and Presiding Judge of the 11th District Court of Appeals, but she is running for Associate Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court.
"My 25 years of experience in the trenches. I have practice law all over the state. I have represented people in small claims court and before the Ohio supreme court. So, I have a depth and breadth of experience, " says Trapp.
She says the judicial system is often forgotten and the least understood branch of government.
"I think thankfully most people don't have to go into court many times, " says Trapp.
So, Trapp says it's a branch of government that's not part of their everyday lives.
The other two candidates attending were guest speaker Maryellen O'Shaughnessy, who is running for Ohio Secretary of State and Eric Brown, who was just appointed Chief Justice of the Ohio Supreme Court in April. Brown will run for a six-year term as Chief Justice in November.
