Miss Muskingum Valley is preparing for her trip to Mansfield to compete in the Miss Ohio Pageant.
She leaves this Thursday and will get to meet all the other girls competing for the title.
"I'm so excited. I'm definitely anxious. I just kind of want to get the ball rolling and get out there to be with the other girls, but I'm a little nervous, " says Miss Muskingum Valley Heidi Negron.
These are the first pageants that Negron has ever taken part in, and she says they have opened her eyes to something she never knew about pageants.
"You assume it's all about beauty, but it's not. It's about your inner beauty as much as your out beauty. I've definitely learned that there's more to it than smiles and pretty hair, " says Negron.
The Miss Ohio Pageant will take place June 19th. The winner will go on to compete in the Miss America Pageant.
The Miss Muskingum Valley Outstanding Teen, Megan Yocum, will also compete in Mansfield for a chance to move on to the Miss America Outstanding Teen Pageant, which will be held at Disney World in August.
