It's a very exciting day for us here at WHIZ. Two of our reporters received special awards from the Associated Press, which held a special luncheon this afternoon to honor journalists across the state.
Kelly Gilmartin was presented with the first place "Best Feature Reporting" award for her work on "The House on Dryden." She spoke with the homeowner back in July, who has collected more than 500 items that he displays on his front lawn.
Former reporter Katie Jeffries took second place in the same category for her piece, "OSP Has an Eye in the Sky." It showed how the Zanesville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol uses resources in the air to maintain traffic enforcement throughout our area.
