Two people have been arrested in connection to a break in at a church in Newark.

According to the Licking County Sheriff's Office , 24-year-old Melissa Barton and 54-year-old Richard Hunt of Newark are in custody after admitting to breaking into the Marne United Methodist Church on Licking Valley Road on May 7th.

Authorities say the two also admitted to stealing a safe from the church that contained credit cards.

Barton and Hunt were arrested after the Sheriff's Office received an anonymous tip from Crime Stoppers which led to their identities along with a third suspect.

The sheriff's office says that suspect, 22-year-old Troy Barton is still at large.

Both Melissa Barton and Hunt are being held in the Licking County Jail.

Their cases are scheduled to be heard by a Grand Jury next week.
