The busiest recreational boating weekend of the season will be upon us this weekend, and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Division of Watercraft wants to make sure everyone makes smart choices and stays safe while on the water.

"Operation Dry Water" went into effect last weekend and will continue during the holiday weekend. Officers say they are cracking down on those driving while intoxicated and those committing other boating violations. 11 people were arrested this weekend and an additional 198 violations were issued. Overall, officers made contact with more than 3,500 boaters.
