It's time for Stars and Stripes on the River, and this year, the event is geared toward families.
Stars and Stripes kicks off at Zane Landing Park this Saturday night at 6p.m. and will have something to make everyone in your family happy.
"We have live entertainment with Rif Raf, we'll also have beverages and food for purchase down here. We also have got a new thing we brought in for some of the kids to try and make it more family-oriented. We have some amusement rides that are going to be going so we hope to make it a good family event," says Ben Whitacre, Vice President of Jaycees.
On Sunday, the events will continue with more live entertainment, food, beverages, and a fireworks show that is set to start at dusk. All of the events are possible through donations made by businesses in the community.
"Mention our platinum sponsors, City Tire as well as our gold sponsors, Barnes Advertisers, Pepsi, and Dominos Pizza. Without them this event would not be possible. In turn it allows us to have this for the community at no cost," says Dave Mortimer, President of Jaycees.
The Zanesville Jaycees organizes the event each year, and the money raised goes toward providing scholarships.
