Two robberies occurred early this morning in Zanesville, one at the Econo Lodge bar on North Seventh Street, and the other at the Duke and Duchess on Blue Avenue.
The Town House Pub, attached to the Econo Lodge was robbed around 2:30 in the morning.
According to Mike Baker, Captain of the Zanesville Police Department, "an employee was closing and had money out on the counter, the place was all locked up, all the customers had left, when a masked man appeared, she gave him money and he left, he made no threats, no weapon was seen, he didn't indicate he had one."
The Duke and Duchess was robbed shortly after, at 4:30 in the morning.
"A suspect described a short stocky white male wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, some sort of grey t shirt of his head with eye holes cut in, said nothing, did not show a weapon, the cashier opened the drawer and handed over the money without the suspect ever saying a word he left the store in the northbound direction," said Baker.
There are currently no suspects for either of the crimes in custody.
