United Way Receives 10,000 Calls

A year has passed and the united way is celebrating the success of their Southeast Ohio Call Center.

The program launched on June 25, 2009. The 2-1-1 call center is available 24/7 and their goal is to provide information to members of the community on how they can receive various kinds of help. In a years' time, they have had a big impact on the community.

"People who call back and say you gave me some numbers and places to call and that was so helpful instead of they just didn't know what to do," says Audrey Foster, Call Center Manager.

The program has continued to soar. Within a year they have reached more than 10,000 calls.

"To see that kind of response in the community which does show that there are a lot of needs surfacing as well," says Foster.

Foster wants to encourage members of Muskingum, Morgan, and Perry counties to utilize the call center by simply dialing 2-1-1. With school right around the corner, they invite community members to check out information on how to get school supplies.
