More mosquitoes have tested positive for the West Nile Virus in Licking County.

The Health Department says the mosquitoes were collected in a trap located on Tamarack Road in Newark. They plan to do spraying in that area Thursday night.

This is the second pool of mosquitoes to test positive for West Nile Virus in Licking County this year.

The first positive pool was found earlier this month on Buckeye Boulevard in Newark.

There have been no human cases of the virus reported this year in Licking County.

The Health Department will conduct mosquito spraying in the following areas next week: The Village of Alexandria on Tuesday July 27th, Village of Kirkersville and the KOA Campground in Buckeye Lake on Thursday July 29th.

All spraying will take place after dusk.
