As another academic year nears, so do new dress code guidelines for one local school district.

The Newark School Board approved the changes back in May. Students will be required to wear black or khaki pants along with a white, crimson, black, or gray three-button or button-down shirt, but enforcement of that dress code will not take place until after the students return from Thanksgiving break, on November 29th. On the district's Website, the administration says despite the delay, it hopes students will follow the dress code starting on the first day of school.

It cited needing the changes after having to deal with 25 to 30 dress code violations a day at the high school.
