One local hospital official is seeking community support.
Chief Executive Officer Matthew Perry of Genesis Healthcare System spoke at the Zanesville Rotary Club Tuesday afternoon. Perry's goal is to keep patients from traveling to outside hospitals for treatment.
"It's very very important that we win back the full support of our community, Genesis, we employ about three thousand people in our community and are a huge economic drive here," said Matthew Perry, CEO of Genesis Healthcare System.
Perry says more than 60 physicians have been recruited in the past two and a half years. He says he's confidant in the abilities of the doctors and medical staff.
"Every single service that we offer, we set our sights and being able to do it in the top ten percent of the country in outcomes, and we are meeting that. If we cannot do a service at that kind of level we don't do it," he said.
Genesis Healthcare System loses 175 million dollars a year in patient services to other hospitals.
