The Blue Devils hit the pavement in preparation for Friday's season opener.

The football squad made their way to Honeybaked Ham from the Zanesville High School in what head coach Chad Grandstaff calls a time of team bonding. Each Thursday, before Friday's game, a local business hosts the team for a meal. Coach Grandstaff has been holding the walk for several years.

"It's just a real neat team bonding thing, and the community gets to see us, and it's just really exciting to visit these establishments. We're really proud of the people who support the Blue Devils," says Coach Grandstaff.

The team faces Newark Friday night, and players feel that this time spent together is helping them focus.

"Everybody's really fired up about facing Newark again, and we really want to beat them really bad. Mentally, we've prepared for it tonight," says senior, Cole German.

A week from Friday, the Blue Devils face Licking Valley.
