25th Anniversary

The Muskingum County Community Foundation is celebrating 25 years.

It started in 1985 with nothing but a vision, and it's now grown financially with over $17 million invested in the community. Foundation President Richard Duncan says the community has really embraced its mission.

"We're able to take assets and give them to a lot of really worthwhile non-profits in town, " says Foundation President Richard Duncan.

Local residents have taken the foundation's symbol of a tree and brought it to life.

"You really know that you're doing something important when you plant a tree that you know you will not sit under. So, you plant a seed that will benefit people that you probably won't even know, " says Duncan.

Staff, donors, and local officials gathered for a party at Ohio University-Zanesville/Zane State this weekend to thank the community for their support over the years.
