New Display at Z.A.A.P.

The Muskingum County Fair may have wrapped up, but the Z.A.A.P. art gallery in downtown Zanesville is reminiscing their favorite fair moments.

The gallery's theme for September is "A Fair to Remember," featuring each member's replications of distinct memories from their time spent at the county fair.

"It just brings back all kinds of childhood memories. Everybody picks out a different painting that they like because it brings out something from their family and their traditions growing up," says Crystal Fuller, member of Z.A.A.P.

Fuller is this month's featured artist and has more than 30 pieces in a variety of mediums. One of them shares her fondest fair memory.

"That was something that my dad always took me to do. The thrill show at the county fair. And this was the first year it had been back in a long time and so I had to go see it. It was part of our tradition and so I've got a painting of the truck on two wheels coming around the race track," says Fuller.

You can check out the new display during the First Friday Artwalk from 6 to 9 p.m. The gallery is open Thursdays through Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m.
