Blue Avenue in Zanesville was shut down for more than a half-hour following a two car accident Wednesday night.

It happened at the intersection of Blue and Forest Avenues just before 8 p.m. Patrolman James Devoll of the Zanesville Police Department says that a Subaru was traveling West on Forest when it failed to observe the stop sign, and struck the driver's side of a Cadillac traveling South on Blue Avenue.

Both drivers were transported to Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. Devoll says the driver of the Subaru will be cited with failure to obey a traffic control device. Devoll says the driver said she was not paying attention. There were no passengers in either car. The Zanesville Fire Department and Community Ambulance were also on the scene.
