In less than two weeks, hunters will come face-to-face with Ohio's increasing deer population.
Around 300,000 bowhunters are expected to take part in the archery deer hunting season, which opens September 25th. More than 90,000 deer were killed by bowhunters last year, which was a 7% increase. Licking County was the state leader, followed by Coshocton, Tuscarawas, Harrison, and Guernsey counties.
The archery deer hunting season will last five months, through February 6th.
