Muskingum County Commissioners receive bids for truck beds that will prolong the life of the trucks.
Recently, the County Engineer's Office purchased two new tandem trucks. By placing stainless steel bed liners in the truck, Muskingum County Commissioner John Bates says it should save money in the long run.
"These beds will probably outlast the trucks and they'll be put on the new truck eventually down the road some day," says Commissioner Bates.
The County Commissioners received two bids. Commissioner bates says the money for the project comes out of the Engineer Office's budget.
"The engineer is just looking at the future of how he spends his money and where he spends it and make every dollar count. I think it's a wise decision to go with these stainless steel beds," says Commissioner Bates.
The commissioners along with the County Engineer will take the bids under advisement to make the final decision.
