Family and friends of one local woman are seeking community support.
The public is invited to attend a benefit in honor of Kate Riser, 51, who passed away September 1st after being diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer in July. She is survived by her husband and two children.
"The family basically did not have any health insurance, so we're trying to take the edge off whatever we can as far as what they've built up in the hospital costs and nursing costs," said Committee Member Jack Brady.
The fundraiser will have an auction with lots of great gifts, live music, plenty of food and also a cornhole tournament.
"We're trying to touch all the bases, get as many people involved and interested as we can," said Brady.
All proceeds raised will be donated to the Riser family. The benefit will take place this Sunday outside of the Olde Falls Inn off Newark road from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
