Political candidates are coming to Zanesville and you get to ask the questions.
Monday, October 11, Ohio University Zanesville is welcoming candidates running for Ohio's 18th Congressional district. It's the second of four open 'candidate night' public forums that 'Ohio 18' is holding.
"We have Bob Gibbs who is the Republican nominee and we have Lindsey Sutton from the Constitution Party coming. They both confirmed that they're coming. Mr. Space has not confirmed one way or another," says Dan Offineer, Ohio 18 Candidate Night Coordinator.
The public is invited to attend the evening, and each person will have an opportunity to ask the candidates questions about any issue. Moderator Warren Edstrom says it gives the public a good idea of who they are voting for.
"A lot of people came to our previous ones. 42% percent of the people said they changed their mind on who they were going to vote for after they came to the candidate night. So that's almost half of them, so they got a lot of information that they weren't going to get from the political party's advertisements or from other sources," says Edstrom.
Candidate night will be held at the OUZ Elson Hall on Monday. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the open forum will begin at 7 p.m.
