The community is showing it's appreciation by thanking area soldiers.
The Muskingum Valley Red Cross hosted the third annual Military Family Fest at the Zanesville Municipal Airport. A variety of resources were available for military members and their families. The them this year was "thank you'.
"I think it's great, I really think it's great, it's one thing for people to be remembered around the country, but by your own hometown it's just great," said Army veteran Cpl. Ronald Rosser.
Rosser served in the Korean War with the U.S. Army and is a Medal of Honor recipient, which is the highest military decoration awarded by the U.S. Government.
"It's a very scary thing, I was actually more scared and afraid in front of the president than I ever was in the Korean war," said Rosser.
He asks for the continued support of the troops. Recent reports indicate that there have been more than 2,000 casualities between the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
