One local gym is encouraging everyone to be active.

As a part of the "Field of Dreams" program at the Fieldhouse Family Fitness Center here in Zanesville, children like 8-year-old Cameron Taylor, who had to have part of his leg amputated due to bone cancer, are being given the opportunity to play the sports they love. Owner of the Fieldhouse, Mic Amicone, says physically disabled children deserve the chance to be active just like anyone else.

"A lot of those kids are sitting at home, a lot of them don't have the ability to one have a facility to get out and secondly don't have the equipment because it's incredibly expensive," said Amicone.

The Fieldhouse owns two pieces of equipment that several children share, including a hand operated bike and walker. He is currently doing pre-training with Taylor so he has the upper-body strength needed when he receives his prosthetic leg.

"The biggest thing with Cam is the reason he's going to be so successful and such an inspiration for so many other kids that are like him is he will not, he will not allow us to help him, he wants to do it on his own," said the owner.

A benefit will be held celebrating Cameron's courage on Saturday November 6th from 11:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Adamsville Elementary School.
